The great project "China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation" was successfully launched

On 28th May, the "China-ASEAN fisheries Resources Conservation and Exploitation " kick-off meeting of “China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation Project” was held at the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute of China. Dr. Zhang Song, vice President of Nutriera group and Ms. Li Xuning, manager of science and technology management department were invited to participate in this event.

Organized by the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery SciencesCAFS, the symposium was co-organized by Guangzhou Nutriera biotechnology co., LTD. (Nutriera), Zhongkai University of Agricultural and Engineering, South China agricultural university, South China Normal University, Guangzhou university and other project implementing partners.

The kick-off meeting was presided over by Prof. Zhang Mingfu, secretary of the party committee of the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute. Prof. Xu Ruiyong, president of Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute, Prof. Chen wen, director of agriculture and rural affairs department of Guangdong province and Prof. Liu Yingjie, Vice President of CAFS, delivered speeches respectively.

Prof. Zhu Xinping, deputy director of the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute, the chief expert of the project, reported the project background, main content, implementation unit and cooperation target briefly, and mainly introduced the project implementation plan, organization and management measures and budget arrangement. Since the beginning of the application, the project has fully considered the fishery development needs of ASEAN countries and highly matched these needs with the scientific research advantages of domestic universities and research institutes and the industrial advantages of enterprises. In the process of project implementation, all resources will be fully integrated to achieve various indicators with high efficiency and high quality.

The China-ASEAN maritime cooperation fund was officially announced in 2011. It is approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance of China and set up a project. The project of "China-ASEAN Fishery Resources Protection and Development and Utilization" is one of the five projects approved in 2018. The project aims to promote communication and cooperation in Marine Fisheries between China and ASEAN countries, to building a new platform for China-ASEAN fisheries science and technology cooperation through technical training and industrialization demonstration, to solve many problems in the industrial chain of fishery resources evaluation and multiplication, ecological security, seed industry, breeding, disease, feed, quality safety, cold chain transportation and so on.

Nutriera is the only enterprise in the participating units, it is also the project implementation unit to undertakes important work in the project. The company intends to export China's high-quality aquatic feed technology, aquatic animal breeding technology, eco-efficient aquaculture technology and high-efficiency aquatic feed processing technology to ASEAN countries such as Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines through research, technical training & conferences and cooperation to promote fisheries technology in these countries.
