Nutriera Group Co-organized the First Pangasius Farming and Feed Technology Symposium in Myanmar
The First Pangasius Farming and Feed Technology Symposium of Myanmar was grandly held in Yangon on 19th, Oct, 2018. Dr. Zhang Song and Mr. Dong Qiufen, the Vice President and International Business Director of Nutriera Group were invited to attend the symposium and gave keynote speeches.
The symposium was co-organized by Myanmar Fisheries Federation (MFF), Myanmar Fish Farmers Association (MFFA), Htoo Thit Group and Guangdong Nutriera Group. There were more than 300 participants attended this symposium, they came from different aspects of aquatic breeding, farming, feed, processing and export, and also officials and teachers and students from government agencies, universities and research institutions, it is the largest symposium in the Myanmar aquaculture industry recently.
Mr. U Htay Myint, Chairman of MFF, Dr. Toe Nandar Tin, Vice President, Mr. Win Kyaing and other officers attended the symposium. About 18 Myanmar's famous media such as DVB TV news, MRTV4 TV and MYANMAR MIRROR NEWSPAPER were invited to report the conference.
Both U Htay Myint and U Zaw Lin, the president of Myanmar Htoo Thit Group, gave opening speeches at the symposium opening ceremony. They said that the aquatic products industry is very important to the economic development of Myanmar. Through exchanges and cooperation with international excellent enterprises and experts, it can update the farming concept, improve farming technology, develop new varieties and explore more development opportunities. The pangasius symposium will definitely contribute to the successful transformation and sustainable development of aquaculture in Myanmar.
Dr. Zhang Song gave a presentation on “Global pangasius farming and consumption”. Through a large number of detailed statistics and first-line photos, Dr. Song introduced 3 main topics: 1) the status of global pangasius farming and processing, 2) analysis of the world's major pangasius consumption market, and 3) analysis of the Chinese consumption market demand for pangasius, as well as opportunities for pangasius in Myanmar. From Dr. Song’s report, Myanmar friends could clearly see that it’s currently a valuable opportunity for Myanmar to develop the pangasius industry. It’s conducive to the revitalization of Myanmar aquatic products industry, and it could also provide high quality pangasius products for the Chinese market where is with “pangasius shortage”.
Mr. Dong Qiufen shared a report of “Key technical solutions to produce white Pangasius fillets”, the general audience was introduced to the different pangasius farming modes of the main farming countries, the key factors affecting the color of pangasius fillets, and the important technical control points for producing white Pangasius fillets. Mr. Dong used a large number of data, photos and videos, which were made by Nutriera international service team in different countries and areas, to share informative and valuable first-line knowledge.
During the Q&A session, there were a lot of discussions and communications. Nutriera experts suggested make a long-term strategy according to Myanmar current status to produce high-quality pangasius and build a world-class pangasius brand in Myanmar.
