The second forum on sustainable development of aquatic foods

On June 21, the second forum on sustainable development of aquatic foods with the theme of "Reshaping the Value Chain, Empowering Pre-made Food" was held with great ceremony at the Canton Fair Exhibition Hall in Guangzhou, China. This forum actively responded to the spirit of the policy "Strengthening the food safety supervision of pre-made food to promote high-quality development of the Industry," issued by the government in April of this year. Over 200 representatives from various fields including industry regulatory departments, scientific research institutions, international organizations, as well as enterprises in the fields of aquatic breeding, feed, farming, live fresh circulation, frozen product processing, pre-made food research and production, and industry media, participated in this grand event.

The forum is organized by SeaFreShare Seafood Supply Chain Service (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Nutriera Biotechnology Co., Ltd, GLOBAL SEAFOOD (SHRIMP) TRADE FAIR and Zhuhai Pre-made Aqua Food Research Center, and co-organized by Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Uni-President Vietnam Co.,Ltd., CP Food (Hubei) Co.,Ltd., Guangzhou Guanxing Agricultural Science and Technology Co.,Ltd., Guangdong Nutriera Group Co., Ltd and Zhuhai Dynaqua Biotechnology Co., Ltd. The forum is also supported by Guangzhou Association for Science & Technology.

 The report focuses on the genetic and developmental basis of polyploid crucian carp and the cultivation of new varieties of Carassius auratus gibelio in the past 40 years, especially several important breakthroughs in precision breeding in the past five years and tries to talk about the role of modern genetic breeding technology innovation in helping the development of aquatic food through the experience accumulated in long-term research. Long-term breeding practice tells us that the reason why the silver prussian carp is versatile is that it has a unique genetic basis of double triploid, which makes it an inexhaustible 'treasure trove'. We continue to discover its biological characteristics, continue to develop breeding technology paths, and continue to breed varieties to meet the needs of aquaculture. Modern genetic and breeding technology innovation is an inexhaustible source to help the development of aquatic food.

In recent years, global shrimp diseases have evolved from an early viral disease to a bacterial  disease. Large-scale diseases have led to increased aquaculture failure rate and repeated losses for farmers, forcing farmers to use a large number of antibiotics to breed shrimp to resist  bacterial diseases. The abuse of antibiotics has caused serious problems in shrimp food safety and affected the health of consumers. This report describes how to solve the plight of farmers through Uni-President's advanced shrimp '3-good' farming technology, which can be successfully farmed without the use of harmful drugs. And then improve the color and taste of farmed shrimp through the polishing of feed formulas, and use this as raw materials to cook healthy, safe and delicious 'Uni-President shrimp'.

Driven by the two-way drive of national policies and market demand, the aquatic pre-made food industry develops rapidly on a large scale, and the market size will exceed 100 billion. The successive promulgation of new regulations on pre-made food not only allows the public to be clearer about their concept and scope, but also puts forward stricter quality management requirements for pre-made food manufacturers. In the process of rapid growth, the aquatic pre-made food industry linking farm to table is also facing problems such as scattered industrial chains, difficult to standardize quality, and uneven technology. The report analyzes the processing technology of aquatic pre-made food by sharing the production cases of aquatic pre-made food and discusses the trend and path of high-quality development of China's aquatic pre-made food industry.

On the afternoon of June 21, some conference attendees went to the Pearl River Delta to conduct research and inspection at pre-made food processing enterprises. They also visited the Zhuhai Industrial Park of Nutriera Group, actively discussing the green development of aquatic pre-premade food.
